Wordless Wednesday - Showing in a Library Window Close to You!!

Editor's note: Today's post was written by Sandra Gardner-Benward

Here we are at the library display window AGAIN......... last month you could visit the ArdenDimick Library Display Window and learn about Genealogy, Family Research and Root Cellar SGS. October you can catch Root Cellar Sacramento Genealogical Society in the display windows at the Fair Oaks Library and North Highland Antelope Library's........ but just till the end of October and then it is gone for another year.

There isn't much time left to actually see these display windows in person, only a couple more days. We want your feedback, your comments, most of all we hope that you will see the windows with others and explain to them what this is all about. After all it is National Archives Month.

                                    North Highlands Antelope Library
                                                                 great job ladies!!

You may ask, "Where is Fair Oaks Library Display pictures?
I might answer,  "You haven't sent them to me yet!!"

Motivation Monday: Connect Explore Refresh

Editor's note: Today's post was written by Sandra Gardner-Benward

Two Conferences One Location
FGS 2015 Conference                                    "Connect.Explore.Refresh          + RootsTech Conference    both 11-14 February 2015     Salt Lake City, Utah

What does this mean to me?
.......and I hope it means a great deal to others.

Connect -I hope that conference goes will connect with other individuals and society leaders. Find out what is working and what is not working? How can we improve, how can we change, how can we continue on as a society?  Share the latest ideas, network, make new friends. Connect with new ways of researching, with new tools, with a new zest to do the job.

Explore- Try to explore as many topics as you can with so many classes being offered at FGS to help in your research and explore the new cool tools with RootsTech with the many many classes they will be offering. This is a big chance to explore the country's (maybe the worlds) largest Genealogy Library right here in Salt Lake City. What an opportunity. Explore your heritage in a new light.

Refresh - Relaxing with other's of a like mind, with similar goals, that speak the same language. AND with people that don't gloss over when you begin to talk about your family & its tree - you know what I am talking about! OK, now that you have taken the classes, some workshops, spent countless hours/days at the Exhibit Hall and the Library- go home with a new frame of mind, new found information and documentation, new avenues for research, new cool tools to help you in your search for your ancestors...... refreshed, renewed and re- energized.

Wordless Wednesday - LOOK at That Doggie in WINDOW

Editor's note: Today's post was written by  Sandra Gardner-Benward

OK there is no doggie in the window but lots of memorabilia of days of olde....... lots of books to reference, declarations, documents, family photo's and even clothing....... It is impressive!

September has ended and hopefully you got over to the Arden Dimick Library Arden  area in Sacramento to view and marvel at our genealogy dressed window ..........  Great Job to Diane and her crew!!  Unfortunately our window is already dismantled and someone else has redecorated with another theme.........

I have photo's for you but keep in mind that the window is difficult to photograph because there is so much glare all day long............  But enjoy- there is so much in the window about genealogy and Root Cellar Sacramento Genealogical Society. (thanks to Diane Maltase for the photo's)

ALERT ALERT: Now you can check out the display windows during the month of October at Fair Oaks Library and North Highlands Antelope Library. Lots more Root Cellar SGS and Genealogy.
