Are you going? We sure hope you do.

Do you have this event on your calendar? Write it in now. Make the committment.

This is a free event with professional speakers to help the novice, beginners
and too refresh others.

Why wouldn't you be going? It really is worth it and it is fun too.

Make the committment, read throught blog , order your syllabus, pack your lunch

and travel in on lightrail.  It will be a good day.

Click on this link  Family History Day 2013 Blog .......  on the home page you will see on the right side of the page "Follow by email"  enter your email and go through a little security check. Now when something is added to the blog - new announcements, class schedule up and new items added for the day ......  you will be contacted through your own email. Pretty good!!

25 FREE classes are being offered for the day. The classes are listed on the blog so you can see what is being planned. The actual schedule is not up yet, but I am sure it will be up very soon.

Check out the speakers. Learn who they are, and why they are teaching what. We do have alot of very special people in our area that are willing to share their expertise with others. AND for this event, they share it for free. No one is being paid.

Take a guided tour of the Archives, or visit the California Museum, which extends free admission to Family History Day participants.

Check the Directions tab......  alots of information about how to get there and where the parking is available on a Saturday. No mentioned, but a great option is the LightRail Sytem. The stop is right outside the doors of the Archives - "Archives"

A syllabus is being offered again this year. All the handouts are included. Go to the blog and click on the syllabus tab and send a message with your name that your would like to have a syllabus reserved in your name. The day of the event you will pick it up and pay the nominal $5 fee - cash only please. A syllabus can be a very valuable research tool. With 25 classes offered, you will only be able to attend 5 maybe 6 classes  out of the 25 and what about all those other classes you could not attend and learn about - buy a syllabus. RESERVE YOUR'S NOW

Let's not forget about the great exhibit hall. There will be lots of  special interest groups: ie Root Cellar SGS, DAR, German Genealogy Society, Jewish Genealogy Society, Old SchoolHouse, City Cemetery and many many more. Get to know what all these organizations are all about and how you might benefit from them. Take a tour through Root Cellar SGS Library - see what we have in our holdings.
