Follow Friday - Sacramento Archives Crawl

Editor's note: Today's post was written by Denise Hibsch Richmond.

The 3rd Annual Sacramento Archives Crawl will be on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The theme this year is A Passion to Preserve.  Organizers recently announced that the commemorative bookmark featuring the California State Fair, ca. 1910, is now available at all four host archives.  Read more and follow the Crawl blog.

The Sacramento Archives Crawl is held in celebration of Archives Month (October) and allows history repositories to showcase their collections and offer demonstrations.

Root Cellar Sacramento Genealogical Society (RCSGS) has participated in the Crawl since its inception and will again have an exhibit just outside its genealogy library at the California State Archives, one of the venues.  "Crawlers" will be able to browse the exhibit and library all in the same day.  Society volunteers will be available to offer genealogy research guidance so bring your questions, maybe even a pedigree chart.  The library is open to the public daily free of charge.

Mark your calendars now!
